I’m very excited about some changes coming to the blog in the next few weeks. More regularity, more depth, and more connection; which will hopefully bring about more personal interaction. I don’t really do new year’s resolutions, but one thing I would like to strive for this year is more connection with people. I am both energized by people and depleted by people, all depending on which tank is running empty. And right now, I need my people. I love hunkering down in my little home and working all day, hanging out with Marco at night, and whispering conspiratorially with Daniela, but there comes a point when I need to step out of my inner creative world. Hug a body with boobs. Yeah, I said that. Gutter minds. (cue: shaking head) Instagram is great for feeling like you’re a part of things, but eventually you have to actually *be* with other humans. Like, physically share space. Which is awesome. For real. I love people, but I tend to ignore daily schedules when I’m with them and then fall way behind. So. With that in mind, I created an editorial calendar for my blog. There are so many things I’ve wanted to write about, but haven’t had the time to dig into it the way I wanted — and the way that the subject deserved. That’s going to change.

Beginning February 1st and continuing the 1st of every month, I’m going to have a column called Light it Up where I introduce you to people who are actively putting Light out into the world. People who pretty much rock at Life, capital L. I’m super stoked about it.
Also in February (I hope) I’m going to continue with my religion column. This is of particular interest to me because misery loves company, and most religious people worth their title have stumbled through their own crises of faith. Pot, meet kettle.
Lastly, and this is where you guys come in, I’m entertaining the idea of starting a Blended Family column. I have a lot of (real, from-my-life) people ask me to write more about blended families — specifically my relationship with Daniela, but I feel so ill equipped to do so. We never had to overcome hard times to get where we are. Dani’s the marshmallows in my Lucky Charms and always has been. However, growth happens when you stretch yourself, so if that’s an area of interest for you lovely people, than I’d like to make a regular Blended Family feature. Chat with me via email or comments (though I have a hard time with my current comment system) and let me know what you think. And speaking of my current system…
I can wait no longer to show off the new look coming to my little corner of the Internet! I CAN’T FREAKING WAIT!!!!! Seriously. I can’t wait. Are you catching my enthusiasm?
It’s so fab I can hardly contain it. Victoria of Vivaleur outdid herself on this one and if you’re even considering hiring out for graphic design, check her out first! Phenomenal. I’m dying to publish it. Patience, young blogger, patience.
