Today marks the Winter Solstice, or the longest night of the year, which celebrates a returning of light to the earth. The darker months have passed, and little by little, each day will hold an extra ounce of light than the one before it. Beautiful. Literally and figuratively, Light is worth celebrating. Rebirth. New year. Second chances. Hope.
I love this article on celebrating the Winter Solstice with your family. I must admit, the mention of Pagan and Wiccan traditions still makes my mind flinch in judgement and fear of the unknown, but I refuse to live that way. I learn, and explore, and through experience and love, trust what is right for me. I’m learning to accept Light wherever I find it, and today, it is with celebrating the Winter Solstice. I sense some new traditions for my family’s winter festivities!
Merry Winter Solstice.
